Refreshing Garden Mint Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves, washed and lightly bruised
  • 4 cups water
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Lemon slices or fresh lime wedges, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Steep mint leaves: Once the water has reached a rolling boil, remove it from the heat and add the fresh mint leaves. Cover the pot and let the mint leaves steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  3. Sweeten (optional): If you prefer a touch of sweetness, stir in the maple syrup or agave syrup to taste.
  4. Strain: After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or a tea strainer into a teapot or heat-proof pitcher to remove the mint leaves.
  5. Serve: Pour the tea into cups. Garnish with lemon slices or fresh lime wedges if desired. Serve hot or chill in the refrigerator for a refreshing iced version.
